Whether your walking through life with the company of friends, or standing in a room all alone. There is one thing you have to try to remember, it's not the quantity of friends or people you have close that matter, but the quality of the ones you have. People get jealous of what other people are holding, it doesn't matter if your hands are empty or they are full. Most humans want what they can't have, instead of enjoying what they have. Now this could be from the smallest of things, to the largest of things. Hell they could even be wondering how you're standing their smiling with nothing in your hand at all. But just because there's nothing in your hand that they're focusing on, it doesn't mean that out of focus on your back is the stress of the world trying to bend you with its force... they see what they want to see. They see what they focus on, which is never the whole picture.
So next time you see that person even trying to make others smile, or giving them hope,.. stand back, and ask yourself why? Cause just out of focus, there is a whole other story, waiting to be read inside. It may just be the cover your looking at, or even the edge of an iceberg so deep. What's the road they traveled.. what makes them so unique. People often get prejudged for existing without ever looking deeper inside. You're missing some real gems, rarity even more so than diamonds inside.
All it takes is compassion, care and understanding. Don't be so quick to prove a point. They may have what you don't have.. but is it really worth the path they had to take? Show some respect for the person, I bet you'll start getting them back. Noone owes you anything, don't go around promoting like you own the land. Take some time, get to know the people, sit back and enjoy the ride. Everyone can be affected, some have really been through some landslides. Situations ripped from their feet, without a chance to breathe. Believe it or not, there's still some good people.. all you have to do is take a seat. Take the focus off of yourself, let someone else have some light. Smile, sit, love and laughter... your life will begin to take flight.
